"Iron Man " makes huge opening at box office

Marvel Comics the Iron Man box office break out on the weekend. And to a degree it was anticipated. Maybe that’s why Marvel had already signed the main players to a three-picture deal and had some early pre-production on the second Iron Man already in progress before the opening weekend.That and the $100 million-plus opening weekend gross - double it for a global take - means that Robert Downey Jr. will be suitably employed for the next decade. Especially when you consider Iron Man is second only to Spider-Man for comic book debuts. And that Iron Man may have a stronger appeal than Spider-Man overseas.The way things look, Iron Man is headed for another number one weekend the second time around. And that’s despite going up against the much hyped Wachowski Brothers Speed Racer which is based on a 1960s Japanese cartoon.

Naomi Campbell released on bail

Naomi Campbell was released on bail Friday after a spat with a police officer at Heathrow Airport's troubled new Terminal 5, where one of her bags was lost.
Campbell, 37, left the airport police station just after midnight. London's Metropolitan Police said she was released pending further inquiries and told to report to a police station in late May.Naomi Campbell was arrested late Thursday on suspicion of assaulting an officer after police were called to a disturbance at the airport. Since Terminal 5 opened last week, more than 28,000 bags have been separated from their owners.

Witnesses said Campbell was aboard a British Airways plane due to depart for Los Angeles when she became involved in a dispute because one of her bags had been lost. During the dispute, Campbell allegedly spit on the officer.

Adam Sandler broke his ankle

Hollywood actor Adam Sandler has broken his ankle while playing basketball in the United States . The star of BIG DADDY, 50 FIRST DATES and the upcoming DON'T MESS WITH THE ZOHAN, is said to have broken said ankle over the weekend.
Sandler is currently in the middle of shooting the Disney movie BEDTIME STORIES in which he plays an Uncle who invents fairy tales for his niece and nephew, fairy tales that just happen to come to life.

According to a survey by Los Angeles-based E-Poll Market Research, Paris Hilton has beaten Britney Spears and Lindsay Lohan to the top of the list.
The survey, reported by Forbes magazine, noticed that the media exposure keeps such stars among the ranks of top celebrities even when their movie, TV, or recording work is unnoticeable.Forbes has given the example of Pamela Anderson, who has landed the fourth spot in the list."Without the acting career she hoped would take off.
