Maria this year:2008

Maria took a Long break last year and she is back with a bang. She Defeats former world number one Lindsay Davenport in second round of Australian Open 2008.she ends a world no1 Justin henin's 32 matches in quarter finals.she goes in to the final has crowd favourite and she delivers her knock out punch for serbian star Ana Ivanoic in the final.

She continues her good form into Qatar open. She wins the final in Grand style defeating Vera Zvonareva in 3 sets. Many didnt give her a inch last year but the tennis star made  everyone wrong  and she makes her own statement in 2008 saying
