Actor Vijay was formally introduced as the Star Ambassador of the Chennai Super Kings, the India Cements group-owned cricket franchise in the lucrative Indian Premier League (IPL), at a city hotel on Tuesday.

Sony set to entertain with Sitaare Zameen Par

Come March 17 and one can watch one’s favourite television stars on one platform as they come together for Sony channel’s new show “Sitaare Zameen Par - Television Ka Maha Event”.

“In line with our vision of offering the biggest and the best, we bring to our viewers an innovative and fun filled extravaganza,” said Albert Almeida, executive vice-president and business head of Sony Entertainment Television, in a statement Thursday.

“Kicking off with the festival of colours, the show promises to bring home the biggest stars in a celebration like never before on Indian television. The month-long special offers some exceptional entertainment that will bring together the best talent and a galaxy of stars together,” Almeida added.

The show would be televised four days a week at 10 p.m. and will be divided into three parts - “Bura Na Mano Holi Hain”, “Mr. And Ms. Television” and “Ustaadon Ke Ustaad”.

A Whizcraft production, “Bura Na Mano Holi Hain” will not only entertain but also educate viewers on the origin and significance of the festival of colour.

“Mr. And Ms. Television” is especially designed for the small screen’s glamour brigade. The show will hunt for India’s most talented and multifaceted TV personality. The contest will see six female and male celebrities competing for the title.

Bollywood’s two well-known faces will judge the event.

“Ustaadon Ke Ustaad”, a weeklong event, will bring together various faces from all reality shows on Indian TV on one platform.

Aamir, Kareena to take over ICL teams ?

Now it's Khan versus Khan in cricket too! As Shah Rukh Khan launched his IPL team Kolkata Knight Riders on Tuesday, it was learnt that Indian Cricket League team Lahore Badshahs will be taken over by his Bollywood rival Aamir.

Kareena Kapoor, who won all the awards this year for her role in Jab We Met , will also take over another ICL team - Mumbai Champs. ICL sources informed that instead of buying the teams, both Aamir and Kareena are going for multiple sponsorships with the Lahore Badshahs and Mumbai Champs respectively.

According to the deals, the Lahore Badshahs players like Inzamam-ul-Haq, Azhar Mahmood and Mohammed Sami will feature in the promotions of the Aamir Khan films in the future. Aamir and the other stars of his film will also perform in the ICL matches that the Lahore Badshahs will play.

"These players will also promote films of Aamir in Pakistan," the source informed. Kareena, who was present in the inaugural event of the ICL, shares a good rapport with Zee boss Subhas Chandra. "That was a big reason for her coming on board. The deals have almost been finalized and we will announce it formally very soon," the source added.

Regarding the stunt, Blaine stated, "If you thought my previous stunts were intense, this new one will leave you speechless. Several news have reported that Blaine's new stunt will help him to break the world record for sleep Deprivation , currently held by Englishman Tony Wright . Tony's record of 11.5 days without sleep left him with hallucinations - for example, dreaming while awake . But Guinness world book of records cite that record because of the grave risk to mental health.

British parents are much to ours they believe certain things that most of the Indians think uncultured . Half of British parents think childhood ends at 11 years old, a survey said on Monday.

They allow their children to drink alcohol before age 18 and nearly a half of them allow their 16 year-olds to spend a night at their partner's house (sleep together) , said the survey .

The ICM survey of almost 1200 parents with children aged under 18 , found that more than half of the parents believe their children are 'young adults' at 11.

"I feel it is a real shame that children act like adults at an alarmingly early age," Wilson told Britain's Times newspaper.

The survey was commissioned by to help launch Wilson's latest book: My Sister Jodie.

"Because the narrators in my novels are teenagers, it may look as though I am pushing for teenagers to have more freedom," Wilson said. "But it is not what I believe."

Fifty-three percent of teenagers under 16 are allowed to stay out later than 11 pm while more than two-thirds of pre-teen girls are allowed to get their ears pierced, the survey showed.

Wilson urged parents to be stubborn in not giving in to their children's unreasonable demands. "Parents need to take a stand, to tell their children 'I don't care if everyone else in the class is allowed to do this or that. You're not,'" she said.

"No one wants a confrontation, but adolescence is a tricky time and it is the nature of the beast that teenagers are a bit stroppy. You just have to accept that."

WWE ROYAL RUMBLE 2008

The Royal Rumble is an annual professional wrestling pay-per-view event, produced every January by World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE).The idea behind the Royal Rumble match is credited to Pat Patterson.[7] Before the match begins, the contestants draw spots in the Rumble.[1] The match is comprised of thirty men, beginning with the two men who chose entry numbers one and two in the ring.[1] At regular timed intervals, usually ninety seconds, one of the remaining 28 wrestlers enters the ring.[1] Participants must eliminate all other opponents, and the winner of the event is the last wrestler remaining after all others have been eliminated.[1][4] Similar to a Battle Royal, a wrestler is eliminated when leaving the ring over the top rope, with both feet touching the floor.[1][2][9] A referee, who is situated at ringside, must witness an elimination in order for it to be valid.[10] A wrestler who is eliminated without a referee noticing may sometimes sneak back into the match.
