Lakshmipathy Balaji took the first ipl hat trick and ended the five match winnign streak of the punjab Kings XI led by yuvraj.Earlier,It was Badrinath and dhoni who played attacking cricket and set target of 182 eventhough the chennai super kings were on track on more then 200.It was some great bowling from the punjab kings XI bowler who restricted the Chennai super kings under 185.Punjab Kings XI lost early wickets but were on track when in-form shaun marsh and sarwan weretaking the attack to the bowler.

It was balaji who took both the wickets of marsh and sarwan in one over which turned the tides in favour of the chennai super kings.Balaji,then followed this with a hat trick setting the match for chennai super kings.Now ,chennai super kings are on a role with just two wins needed of the remaining five match to make it through to the semi final of the ipl.
